4 star review - Definatly worth a read
This is the first European crime book that I have read and I very much enjoyed it. The whole book is set over a five day period and is mostly narrated by the investigators of the murders of, initially, two victims. The plot centralises on Inspector Jaap Rykel, who has more than a personal interest in the murders - he has the duty to find out who is is responsible for the heinous crimes that the investigation uncovers.
Although it took me a while it get into, I think this was only because of the foreign names and places, this book was well paced and enjoyable.
